Business.com to net $400m?
Two internet entrpreneurs in California look set to reap a clear profit of just under $400m if they sell their domain name and search website to one of the big media players in the next few monthsThe unnamed pair were reported to be in talks with Dow Jones and the New York Times amongst others to sell the business for between $300m and $400m. They bought the domain name business.com in 1999 for a then record $7.5m.
The site itself is faily basic with text listings that look very much like they’re culled from Google, grouped under such headings as finance, accounting, technology etc. However, the site claims to attract around six million unique visitors per month.
